Omethoate Risk Assessment Report
17 February 2012
The APVMA has released a human health risk assessment report on omethoate the systemic organophosphorus insecticide and acaricide used in horticulture, agriculture and in the home garden.
The assessment makes a number of recommendations which will be incorporated into a Preliminary Review Findings Report once all the assessments associated with review of this chemical are completed. The Review Findings Report will also contain proposed regulatory actions to be undertaken as a result of the review.
The recommendations from the human risk assessment include a lowering of the ADI, new Acute Reference Dose and changes to the safety directions for some home garden products.
