Draft National Code of Practice for Chemicals of Security Concern

Draft PHTHALATE Report Released for Comment

NICNAS has published the draft Priority Existing Chemical (PEC) assessment report on Diisononyl Phthalate (DINP) for public comment. The draft report is available on the NICNAS website at www.nicnas.gov.au/consultations.asp.

NICNAS Training for Industry and Customs Brokers

The NICNAS seminars provide an update with emphasis on regulatory reforms; eg, recent amendments to the ICNA Act; Regulations and processes, cosmetic regulatory reforms; and the industrial nanomaterial regulatory landscape.

Listing on AICS of Certain Cosmetic Ingredients

NICNAS are seeking comments on their intention to include chemicals in certain cosmetic products in the public section of the Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances (AICS), along with certain conditions of use. These chemicals are currently regulated by NICNAS as new chemicals.

New NICNAS Legislation

There have been a number of important changes to the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 and Schedule, that commenced in September 2011.
